Sightseeing with a guide(Synagogue, visit the Grave of Rabbi Nachman). He was the true "live man," the like of whom there has never been. At all times he was truly alive. His life was always new life. There are countless gradations in the life and vitality found in the world. Real life is the life of true wisdom, and the essence of wisdom is to labor and endeavor to know and acknowledge God, Who is the Life of life. The closer one comes to God, the more one's life is genuine life. The righteous are constantly attached to true life. But the life which the Rebbe himself achieved was on an altogether higher, more exalted plane, the like of which no man has ever tasted. Because the Rebbe had long life, the truly good life.

Of course, they said it in Yiddish, but the meaning was exactly the same. Jewish Odessa is a phenomenon that attracts many historians, researchers, as well as ordinary travelers. You`ll see the sights that have a particular meaning to the local Jewish community and the places, which are connected with such remarkable names as Isaac Babel, Meir Diezengoff, Shalom Aleihem, Vladimir (Ze’ev) Zhabotinsky, Hayim Nahman Bialik, Peter Stolyarsky, Emil Gilels, David Oistrakh to name a few.

The Museum of History of Odessa Jews “Migdal Shorashim” (2 hours).

The Museum of History of Odessa Jews “Migdal Shorashim” was opened in November of 2002 by the Jewish community centre “Migdal”. Previously, the history of Odessa’s Jewry was not exhibited or displayed in any other museum around the city. This exact absence served as the primary reason for the unveiling of this historical treasure. Despite the small parameters of the museum (total area of exhibition space is 160 sq meters) “Migdal Shorashim” serves as the only Jewish museum in Ukraine where it has gathered a rich collection of 7000 materials over a period of five years (including documents, photographs, books, newspapers, postcards, religious garment, household goods, music instruments and other pieces of art).
